Crochet raindrop

crochet raindrop amigurumi free crochet pattern

Earlier this year I made a baby mobile for a beautiful baby girl. Her mother, my friend from university, asked me to make one with colored raindrops.

Before I start a new project, I always search on Google first to check if there are already free patterns available that I like. If so, I will use those. To my surprise I couldn’t find a free crochet pattern for an amigurumi crochet raindrop. Only flat raindrop versions. Luckily it’s not that hard to make, so I created a crochet raindrop pattern myself. It works up really fast, I think if you get the hang of it, you can make one in 5 minutes. You can find my the steps below!

Materials

– Crochet hook 3.5mm
– Fingering cotton yarn. Any yarn brand will do the job
– A little bit of stuffing materials

Video

Below you can find a short video tutorial showing you how to make this raindrop. The written pattern can be found below.

Abbreviations

sc: single crochet (US)
**: repeat between **
(): amount of stitches you should have at the end of the row

Crochet raindrop

The pattern is worked in continuous rounds. This means we do not make a slip stitch and chain at the end of every row.

Round 1: Start with 6 sc in a magic ring
Round 2: 2 sc in every stitch (12)
Round 3: *1sc, 2sc in next stitch* 6x (18)
Round 4-6 (3 rows): 18sc (18)
Round 7: *4sc, 2sc together* 3x (15)
Round 8: *3sc, 2sc together* 3x (12)
Round 9: 12sc (12)
Round 10: *2sc, 2sc together* 3x (9)
Round 11: 9sc (9)
Round 12: *1sc, 2sc together* 3x (6)
Round 13: 6sc (6)

That’s it! Now put some stuffing in your raindrop, cut the yarn and weave in the ends.
