Cute pug

Free crochet pattern pug dog

Last month, Koen and I were 7 years together. As Koen is a pug lover, I decided to surprise him with a self made pug. I have used a Spanish pug pattern from Canal Crochet and made some small adjustments. As the pattern is only available in Spanish, I have translated the pug pattern to English and Dutch. You can find the free English crochet pug pattern below (with approval from the original creator!). Materials
2.00 mm crochet hook (or larger, if you prefer)
Black cotton (less than 50g)
Beige cotton (about 50g)
2 safety eyes 10mm
1 dog safety nose 10mm
Fiberfill

Abbreviations
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
inc: increase (2 sc in next sc)
dec: decrease (next 2 sc together)
**: repeat
(): amount of stitches you should have at the end of the row

Eyes (2x)
Using black yarn
1. 6sc in magic ring (6)
2. 2sc in each sc around (12)
3. *1sc, 1 inc* (repeat 6x) (18)
Fasten off and leave long end for sewing

Head
Start with black yarn

Change to beige yarn

Attach the safety nose and safety eyes (don’t forget the black part of the eyes you just made). Also start stuffing the head.

It is highly recommended to watch the video tutorial below. It shows you how to assemble everything. In the video you can see how to crochet around the eyes and the nose to give it more depth. One note: I only crocheted one row around the eyes, in the video two rows are made.
