About the pattern
After the success of my ‘Tulips from Holland‘ square, I decided to turn this popular stitch pattern into a bag, triangle shawl, crop top and now a shrug!
The pattern starts with a large granny square on the back. Then we make 2 front panels with double crochet stitches. Front panels are folded to the center and seamed together leaving a few stitches open for the armholes. Sleeves are worked separately: 2 simple rectangles folded in half, seamed into tubes and sewn onto armhole. Lastly, a ribbed collar is worked in continuous rounds.
About the yarn
For this granny square crochet shrug I’ve used Lion Brand Touch of Alpaca, a soft, silky, affordable luxury yarn. It’s similar to sheep’s wool but warmer, softer, and hypoallergenic. Touch of Alpaca combines top quality natural fiber with durability and washability and is available in 16 colors.
